Biography
Since completing a 3 year BTEC in London in 1999 I have been designing and making contemporary jewellery from my studio in Farnham, Surrey. I work mainly in silver, combining plain and textured pieces and adding gemstones, 18 carat gold and 22 carat gold plating to achieve contrasting surfaces and colours. Generally I like jewellery to be three dimensional and fairly bold and I enjoy the idea of containment, whether it is of another metal or colour, a different texture or shape, or just space.
My ideas usually begin with something I see around me but will be interpreted in different ways through my enjoyment of the technical side of jewellery making. I feel that, providing one respects the intrinsic properties of the metals being used, one can ask an enormous amount of them and in a sense there is a sort of partnership between the maker and the metals.
I am happy to take commissions.
